CIOT/ATT East Midlands Tax Conference
Wednesday, 20 March 2019
About this Event
Please arrive from 9:00 AM for registration with a 9:30 AM start.
The aim of the Conference is to empower, inspire and equip all who attend with essential technical tax and non-technical soft skills necessary for their day-to-day work. The Conference is guaranteed to be a fabulous event for all – and certainly not one to be missed as we venture out and explore the tax frontier and beyond!
The Conference will be chaired by Editor-in-Chief of “Taxation” magazine and former East Midlands Chairman, Andrew Hubbard, with guest speakers Pete Miller of The Miller Partnership, Giles Mooney of PTP and the Office of Tax Simplification. During the Conference, there will also be a number of break-out sessions where a choice of tax-related and soft skills topics will be available to suit individual needs. In addition, both the CIOT and ATT Presidents will be attending the Conference.
I am also delighted that we have will have access to all the Centre’s exhibitions which includes the Soyuz 7K-OK spacecraft, the legendary “Rocket Tower” and the 192-seater Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium. An extended lunch break has been arranged to accommodate this in order for us all to marvel at the wonders of space exploration and the cosmos.
Pete Miller will present on topical corporate/OMB tax issues; Giles Mooney will be speaking on current personal tax issues.
I hope the event will inspire, excite and capture the imagination of all our East Midlands members, students and guests alike – and I am so thrilled that we have the National Space Centre in Leicester as our venue to do just that!
So please join us all on 20 March 2019 as the East Midlands Branch “boldly goes where no Branch has gone before”!”
Due to the expected popularity of this event, early booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
Stephen Foulkes, Branch Chair
